Dear Mr. Medved:

As a long time listener, I highly respect your opinion on a wide range of issues.  You have been informative as well as entertaining with a keen eye for the relevant points of a topic.  As a conservative, I would fight for your right to keep doing that good work.  The recent campaign season has brought out some spirited debate among those of us who consider themselves Republicans.  Your principled defense of Mr McCain against what you might perceive as deaminization by some of your colleges has been fascinating, as well as somewhat troubling to me.

Surly the recent example of Mr. McCain's unfortunate miss characterization of Mr. Romney's stance on the subject of troop withdrawal would give any reasoned person pause. That coupled with the strident stance the Senator has taken in "sticking to his guns" on this subject in the face of readily available information to the contrary, would tend to weaken your argument that this has been a one sided, "relentless and distorted" attack.

I would also argue that Mr. McCain has had more then his share of defenders in the media.  All one has to do is turn on CNN, NBC, FOX or any number of media outlets to find ready advocates for the Arizona Senator.  And as a listener of talk radio across the spectrum from your show to Rush Limbaugh's, I don't feel that any integrity has been lost in pointing out the obvious flaws of this particular politician.

Maybe you should take some of your own advice and step back, take a deep breathe, and focus like a laser beam to gain some needed perspective on all this.
